A feature story on pumpkins for Restaurants USA was the inspiration for this eclectic, multimedia composition photographed and composited by Karen. She incorporated the traditional still-life transparency of the pumpkin on a pedestal with engraved sentinel figures and real sage leaves on paper. The whole composition was then shot through parchment to imbue it with a heightened, antiqued and dreamy quality.

A consummate commercial still-life photographer, she is also an accomplished fine-art photographer who has had some solo exhibitions and has been included in group shows throughout the country.
